Dancing is the best aerobic exercise you can do, because you’re using flexibility, strength, memory and it helps to reduce stress. I took NBC’s Joelle Gargulio to two NYC dance fitness studios to bust a move. Check out the segment here!
You guys know that I’ve had it rough lately and anger has played a huge role in my grief process. Remember when I went to the rage room (see blog post) to “safely” smash things and get it out? Well, I took my friend Joelle Garguilo from NBC’s New York Live there recently for a segment and it was so much fun. Check out my latest on “Un-Zen Ways to De-Stress in NYC.”
I'm extremely grateful that part of my job as a beauty editor is to visit new salons and spas to test their hottest treatments. In New York City, it seems there's a new, clever concept salon opening up almost every month. Many of you ask for recommendations on where to go for hair cuts, facials, brows and more so I decided to write a guide of tried-and-true favorites. And yes, as a Hoboken girl now I can tell you, they're worth commuting for.
One of my favorite things about working with New York Live is shooting field segments with Joelle Garguilo. She's full of positive energy, a real hustler and we just have the best time on set together. While we've shot many beauty segments together in the past, this was by far the most fun. I'm so grateful to be able to work with people who inspire me. Check out our latest featuring new express treatments in NYC.
I was recently invited in for a treatment at a new spa, Bare Beauty NYC in the Flatiron. Walking into the building, I was intrigued as it was like a We Work space for the beauty industry. I walked past hair stylists, colorists and lash extension specialists before finding my way to the Bare Beauty suite – a perfectly set up, tiny room that only fit the necessities for Owner and Esthetician, Wynter Hutchinson. The facial, was one of the best I ever had.
I'm excited to announce that I partnered with natural beauty brands Jason, Alba Botanica and Avalon Organics to teach a free yoga class at a their event in NYC tomorrow night and you're invited. In collaboration with Care.org, the brands are celebrating women's empowerment in order to raise awareness and funds for their work in supporting Qach'Umilal Girls' Education and Leadership Project, which helps to give indigenous Guatemalan girls access to education.
