Book Club: Paulo Coelho's Veronika Decides to Die

This year, I'm adding a new series to the blog, a book club!  I have a book shelf near my desk where I keep the most inspiring books that I've read to help cultivate creative energy in my office. One of my resolutions for this year is to spend more time reading (I'm truly a book nerd when I allow myself the time to get lost.) and will be sharing my favorites with you.

First up, is one I read last summer while in Italy with Joe by Paulo Coelho (one of my favorite authors), "Veronika Decides to Die."  It's made an impact on me every single day.  I could simply write an ode to Paulo Coelho, because there isn't a book by him that I haven't liked, but this one is so far my favorite.

A moving novel, it makes you think, "How would you live your life if knew you were about to die?" Deep, right?  In the book, Veronika's death sentence helped her shift her suicidal perspective in order to see the world through eyes of joy and live her final days to the fullest.  But of course, I'm not going to give away what happens.  It's truly genius.

Have any of you read it?  Thoughts?
